How to blog 20 blogging tips to enhance your writing

We get a lot of emails asking how to blog, about topics for blogs as well as about how to write meaningful content. The bulk of this essay explained how to start the blog, but that's only the beginning. Now is the time to start creating and publishing content.

Here are 20 tips for novices to learn how to blog.

Find Your Niche. It's not necessary to be a specialist, but it helps. As you begin to learn how to become a blogger, it's essential to determine what you're passionate about. Running? Cooking? Being a parent? Are you parent? If so, whatever that is, write about that. You must find the passion that you are passionate about first. This is why we suggest that you don't create a blog on a topic unless your perspective is distinctive. If you have embraced simplicity and have an original perspective and perspective, then you should go for it.

Determine Your Ideal Readers. Once you've found your niche, it is important to identify who will be the ones who will be. We write about how to live a meaningful and fulfilling life with little. Our ideal readers are those who are looking to explore the idea of minimalism to clear the way to more fulfilling lives. If you're looking to write about your baby child's development then that's awesome: your ideal readers are probably your friends and family. You could also write about the restoration of old cars. Your blog must be tailored to the interests of your audience, regardless of whether they are your family members or your local neighborhood.

Bring value. Your blog must add value to its readers life. Helping people resolve problems is what you're looking for. This is how you can bring in readers of high quality to your site and keep visitors coming back. Adding value is the only way to ensure that people will continue to support your website over time. This was something we both discovered after a decade of managing and leading people within corporate America. You should consider if you are making a difference in everything you write.

Be unique. There are many blogs which cover the same topics like yours. Your blog is unique, so why? Answer: It's because of you. Your blog's unique due to you. It's about your perspective your uniqueness, your creative flair, and the value you bring to your blog.

Create something interesting. Write interesting blog posts. Particularly if you wish for readers to share your blog with other people.

Be Yourself. Part of being interesting is telling your story. Your story is important because everyone is different. It is essential to eliminate unnecessary details in storytelling which can make it dull. A great storyteller will eliminate all the details that aren't relevant and leave the interesting 1% to the readers.

Be Honest. Your blog should be authentic, and it must feel real--if you wish to attract readers to it. You can be your blog or your blog could be you. Is it possible to truly be the person you write about? If not, people will see through it."Be the change you would like to be able to see in the world," is the well-known Gandhi quote. Bloggers should start a blog they love to write for all of humanity.

Transparency. Being transparent is different from being honest. Transparency is not the same as honesty. There won't be any pictures of us in bathrooms because all we write about must be for the good of the community.

Time. Time. Instead, you should focus working on your writing.

Vision. Vision. We both was ever involved in design prior to starting a blog. It's hard to make a beautiful blog if you don't know what you want it to look like.

Discover Your Voice. As time passes, great writers find their voice, and their writing tends to develop a certain flow that appeals to the readers. Your writing will appear more authentic, real and urgent when you find your voice. Find out more about Finding Your Voice on our blog.

We are instead of you. Make use of the first person plural whenever feasible. Statements of we and our are more persuasive than those of you and you, especially when talking about bad habits or tendencies. The harsh tone of the former person is more powerful. It's not a God-like relationship.

When to post. Question: What's the best time and day to post a blog article? Answer: It doesn't really matter. Although we don't publish on an exact time of the day, consistency is crucial. It's not necessary to get caught up on the finer details, however.

Social Media. We recommend using Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to interact with your audience. But don't get too involved. Focus on the writing first, social media thereafter.

Don't be a fool and ignore negative criticism and stupidity. Yes, we get a lot of negative feedback and stupid questions, but they're not our real readers !"). We call them seagulls. They come in, trash your site then flee. But we pay them no attention, as we didn't create our blog to serve people like them. Move on and delete the comment.

Research. Do some research on the topic you're writing about. We are able use many relevant and helpful links in our essays because we have spent the time researching our subjects.

Keep It Simple. Simple principles can be applied to start any blog regardless of the type. There is no need to add unnecessary advertisements or widgets to your website. Keep it simple and remove anything you don't want. Remove anything that doesn't add value.

Picture. Your blog should have a photo of you. People like to see the person behind the blog author. You don't have to worry about two funny men from Dayton, Ohio aren’t afraid to share their pictures on their blog.

Comments. If you're planning to allow comments on your site take a look at The Five Words That Can Kill Your Blog written by Scott Stratten.

Live Your Life. Blogs are about you and your life. But, it's vital to live your life to the fullest. There are things that are always prioritised before blogging: exercise, health relationships, personal experiences, personal growth, contributions. In simple terms, you must live a life that is worthy of writing about.

15 Reasons You Should Start A Blog

After reading Joshua Becker's 15 reasons I believe you Should blog, we were inspired to investigate this subject further and develop it. In the article, he outlines 15 reasons why you should start a blog.

Why is the word that is used in this article. Becker writes about the purpose behind blogging and not about how to start a blog. This is something that many others "blogs on blogging" seem to miss and miss: the purpose--the why of starting a blog.

Here's a quick summary of our three favorite motives from Becker's list of

Learn to become better at writing. Writing is communication at its heart. Becker says that writing is all about putting your thoughts down on paper and getting other people to share your thoughts. "To that end, writing (just like any other type of communication that's existed) gets better with time. You won't be forced to improve your writing as it happens by itself as you learn to write. And becoming a better writer has significant advantages for the rest of your life. Whether you're creating the book, a PowerPoint for a resume, an anniversary card for your spouse." Spot on! Blogs are not only an excellent way to improve your blog's content, it also provides an excellent chance to improve every aspect of your writing from business emails and text messages to the novel you have always wanted to write.

Meet new people. Becker writes "Whether you're using comments, email or even social media, you might be surprising to see how quickly people meet on the internet." That's true! It's true! The Minimalists blog is responsible in large part for many of my most significant relationships over the last decade. These include friendships with long-term personal and business relationships which were forged through this blog.

You'll be more confident. "Blogging will help you discover more confidence in your life," writes Becker. "You will quickly realize that you are living a significant life, with your own perspective and have something to offer other people." This is so true! Writing helps us better know the people we are and the consequences of our choices.

Three Reasons Not to Start your own blog

Now you've got 15 reasons why you should create a blog. In addition, we've shown you how to begin your blog step-by step, based on our personal experiences.

We'll share with you some details that can save you hundreds of hours and keep you from wasting your time. These reasons are only our personal opinions and don't constitute a set of proven blogging tips.

Money. You shouldn't create a blog solely to earn money. It is important to eliminate that obstacle out of the way first. Don't even think about blogging if your primary objective is to supplement your full-time income. This isn't the way to go. Do you think Jimi Hendrix bought his first guitar to "supplement" his income? No, he didn't. He chose to do it because he enjoyed it for the pleasure as well as the satisfaction and earnings that followed--much later, actually.

Notoriety. Don't plan on getting "Internet famous" right away. It's not every site that grows like ours did, but that's okay. It's true that we were lucky. We found a good domain name, we cobbled together a logo and site design that people liked We write pretty well, and our writing was viewed by people in an unusual way.We didn't set out to be "famous," though. That would be a stretch. The site was designed to assist people to become bloggers and to spread the word. We were surprised at the amount of traffic we received. This was due to a lot luck and hard work.

Traffic. It is not always good traffic, so don't fret about having thousands of visitors in the first few minutes. If you help people solve their problems, then spend your time creating valuable creations. Don't be focused on boosting traffic.

It's incredible that these things are feasible. It is possible to earn a full-time income from building a blog. This is something that we do, Corbett Barr does, as do many others. You could even become an Internet famous blogger like Leo Babauta or Chris Brogan.

But if those are the only motives behind your blog, you'll be miserable because it will seem like an occupation. If it's work, you'll never feel passionate about it, and you'll either be miserable or to the floor (or both).

Instead, turn into an author and blog because you're passionate about writing...

How do you begin with a blog without spending a dime?

WordPress makes it simple to start your own blog. Hosting is all you require, as detailed in the above steps.

There are other "free" amateur websites like Tumblr or Blogger which allow you to start a blog on these platforms of the company. Be aware that you might not be able to control your blog if you're posting it on the website of someone else. This is one of the many reasons we utilize WordPress.

How often should I blog?

In my conversations with my students who write I suggest writing every day and publishing a blog post at least once per week. We usually publish two blog posts each week on the blog. Seth Godin blogs every single day.

We recommend that you remain consistent regardless of your activities. You can establish accountability and accountability partners (your readers) by creating an agenda for writing each week. This will make you feel more compelled to write, even if it's not your desire.

What should my blog's first post be about?

Avoid grandiosity. Do not clear your throat. Your first blog post needn't be a grandiose mission declaration. Your blog's first post doesn't need to be boring and boring. to your blog.

Instead, look for something that is interesting to you right now and write about that. Utilize the suggestions from the "What should i blog on?" section.

For reference, you can go back to the blog's first post of this blog in the year 2010 Be on the Mountain.

How do you introduce yourself to a blog?

Don't be concerned about the way you write your blog post. Instead, make an "about" page that new readers can reference when they're looking to find out more about you, your background and the projects you're working on. As an example, see The Minimalists’ About page. Derek Sivers, our friend has a wonderful Now page that might work for you.

What makes blogs fail?

Blogs can fail for at least three reasons:

Bloggers aren't expecting much. If you launch your blog today and hope to get to have a million visitors in a matter of hours You're making yourself vulnerable to the possibility of failure. If your motive is genuine and you're determined to add value to the world-you'll discover that your expectations will change.

Some bloggers don't add value. Instead of focussing on metrics like the number of followers or subscribers The Minimalists focus on bringing value to our followers. If you can help people solve problems, your success will come from that, not the reverse.

Some bloggers place money first. It's fine to earn a living through your blog (we do) however, it shouldn't be the primary goal. Good blogs make money; great blogs make a difference. Another way of putting it is that money has an important place in the car but isn't the driving force.
